Ogni mese all'estero vengono pubblicati o annunciati tanti libri riguardanti il fumetto, l'illustrazione e il disegno. Biografie di artisti, artbooks, sketchbooks, portfolio, guide, saggi, raccolte di concept art, riviste e chi più ne ha più ne metta. Un settore di mercato pressoché ignorato dagli editori italiani dato che quasi nulla viene importato e tradotto da noi.

Parlando di collezionismo, non mancano i volumi che, andati esauriti, nel mercato dell'usato giungono a raddoppiare, triplicare, decuplicare il loro prezzo di copertina. Non sempre ovviamente, dipende da vari fattori: la tiratura, il tipo di edizione (un "hardback" ha più possibilità di apprezzarsi rispetto ad un "paperback"), il tipo di editore (un volume autoprodotto da un autore diventa subito raro ad esempio), ecc...
